Happy Easter!

Over the last week of term we made chickens! This is what we had to do:

We had to trace around our hands and cut them out. We had to cut out a big oval and glue the hands to it, to make body and wings.

We then had to cut out feet and glue them on.

Next we had to scrunch up little bits of crepe paper and glue them onto the body.

The last thing we had to do was cut out a nose and choose some eyes and stick them on.

Holy Thursday Liturgy - Palm Sunday

On Holy Thursday, the last day of term One, whole school took part in a special Liturgy. Each syndicate had a different part of the Easter story to act out. We did Palm Sunday, which was when Jesus went to Jerusalem for the Passover meal.

Jesus sent two disciples to fetch a Donkey

Jesus and his disciples traveled to Jerusalem.

Discovery Time

We had so much fun at Discovery on Friday! There were lots of different activities for us to do including making palms, playing outside, building things, creating amazing creations and dancing. We were focusing on setting challenges and helping each other.

Fletcher shares what he did at Discovery.

Alexis talks about what she has made.

Jessie shows what she made.

Cultural Rotation dancing

For the past 6 weeks we have been involved in a school wide Cultural Rotation. The school was split into 14 groups with people from every year level in each group. We moved to a new teacher each week and did an activity with that teacher. Some activities involved making things, others were dancing and some were singing and games. Here are some of the different dance moves we have learnt.

Father Peter came to visit

When we were with our Buddies on Thursday, Father Peter came in to have a chat with us about Easter. We went into M6 and listened to what he said and answered some questions. We were able to tell him that the Thursday before Easter is Holy Thursday, and the day Jesus died is Good Friday. We also knew that he Rose from the dead on Easter Sunday.

Buddy Time with M5

Each Thursday we have Buddy Time with our Year 7 buddies. We do a range of different activities with them. Last week we wrote a story with our buddies and typed them up on the chrome books. We love buddy time and look forward to it each week.

Ukulele lesson

Mrs Newport took us (and some of A2) to the hall on Tuesday afternoon to learn how to play a Ukulele. When we first got given them, we were allowed to strum and play whatever we wanted...it got very loud! We then learnt the different parts of the Ukulele and how to strum it. Mrs Newport then taught us how to play C chord and gave us lots of time to practice. There weren't quite enough Ukuleles for everyone to have one each, but we were very good at sharing them around! We are looking forward to our next lesson where we will get to learn another chord!
