We had a challenge this week to help us learn about length. There was a big river full of crocodiles and some gingerbread men that wanted to cross. We had to make bridges to help the gingerbread men get over safely. We had to check our bridge was long enough to reach over the river completely. We then had to work out as a class how we could help the gingerbread man cross the river from top to bottom, rather than side to side. We all worked together and connected our bridges to make a very long one. It was much longer than the river so the gingerbread men could all cross safely.

Worms!
We use playdough to make worms of different lengths and shapes. We suggested what our worms should look like and then we all had to make them that way. We made them long, short, wiggly and skinny. We put them side by side to compare the different lengths of them.
We then made our body different sizes: tall, short, long.
Beat it! Dice game
To help us with Place Value we played a game called Beat it! In groups, we each took a turn rolling a dice twice. The first time w rolled it we had to choose if we wanted that number to go in the tens or ones column. The second number we rolled went in the other column. The aim of the game was to make the highest number.

Listening
When we read the Bible we hear lots of stories about Jesus listening to people. We talked about this in class and discussed how we can listen, like Jesus did. We got into groups and added our ideas to the different pieces of paper.
Jump Jam!
Every Wednesday morning we do Jump Jam with Miss Lambert for our fitness. There are lots of different moves for us to learn and master and we absolutely love it!

Samoan Independence Day
Thursday 1st June was Samoan Independence Day. We raised the Samoan flag and sang the Samoan Anthem after morning tea. After lunch, we coloured in some Samoan flowers, and Miss Noeala taught us the Sasa.
A3 Buddy reading
Every Wednesday straight after morning tea, we do Buddy Reading with A3. We get to help them with their reading, and we read them our stories too.
Telling the time
We have been learning to tell the time to the hour and half hour. We got to make clocks and used them to show the time. We were shown a digital time and had to make it on our clocks.
We had to cut out our circles and write the numbers on.
We then coloured in the halves two different colours. We wrote to on the left half and past on the right half.
Next we had to cut out the arrows and attach them using a split pin.
Our clocks are made! We have already used them a lot in class and will continue to do so.
