Make a Shiny Crown
One of the reading groups read a book called Make a Shiny Crown. We all got to make our own crowns by following the instructions in the book.
Fundamental Skills sessions
The Junior Syndicate have had Sally from Sport Hawke's Bay come in and take some sessions with us all. For each session we have focused on a Fundamental Movement Skill. So far we have done: catching, under arm throw, running, jumping, over arm throw, two-handed strike and kick. We have two more sessions left where we will cover hand dribble and chest pass. We are having so much fun!
Probability
We have been learning about Probability in Maths. We learnt some games that got us thinking about the chance of things happening.
Flipping a coin and moving either up or down depending on if it lands on heads or tails.
Duck Race: Rolling 2 dice and adding the total. That duck number moves forward. First duck to move forward three times wins. There were 11 ducks numbered 2-12.
One person got a point if an odd number was rolled and the other got a point if an even number was rolled. The dice was rolled 20 times and whoever had the most points at the end was the winner.
The counter was moved either left or right depending on if the coin landed on heads or tails.
